Jerry and Linda Blackmon Sr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 29, 2011 with a small gathering held by their family at a local restaurant.
Jerry Blackmon Sr. and Linda Tanner were married July 29, 1961 at the Church of Christ in Corsicana with Claude Holcomb officiating. The couple, both from Navarro County, have spent the majority of their life together on the family farm in Pickett, Texas.
Jerry and Linda are both retired, but enjoy spending time at the Grave Creek Antique store on N. Beaton. Jerry has had numerous jobs through the years but mainly relied on barbering, having come from a long line of barbers. Linda retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance, but she too had worked various jobs over the years.
They enjoy spending time with their family and friends. Both love antiquing and playing dominoes. They plan to travel to the farthest parts of the United States.
The Blackmons have three children who are married and all live in Navarro County: Jerry and Rhonda Blackmon Jr., Kim and Sam Marshall Sr., Pamela and Randy Thomas. Their grandchildren are Sam and Nikki Marshall Jr., Jasper Marshall, Brittany and Dylon Blackmon, Zachary and Jacob Thomas.
