Guy and Martha Anderson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on March 3, 2012. Honoring the occasion are the couple's children and grandchildren as they host a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Assembly Center at First Baptist Church Ponca City, Oklahoma. Friends and famlly are invited to join the Andersons for their celebration.

Guy and the former Martha Gray were married March 3, 1962 at Roane Baptist Church in Roane, Texas. They made their first home in Corsicana, Texas.

Guy is the son of the late Joe and Jewell Anderson, former residents of Richland and Corsicana.

Martha is the daughter of Edna Earl Gray, former resident of Roane and Corsicana and the late Garland Gray. Edna now is a resident of a nursing home in Fort Worth.

Guy attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and Martha attended Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas.

Guy was employed with Continental Oil Company in 1961 which later became Conoco Oil Company. Guy was employed with the Seismograph part of Conoco. They lived in various towns in Texas and then moved to Goodland, Kan. and from there to Minot, N.D.; Riverton, Wyo.; Casper, Wyo.; Buffalo, Wyo. and back to Riverton. They then were transferred to Bay City, Texas. They were transferred to Ponca City in January 1967. Guy went to work in the Data Processing Department where he worked for 22 years.

Guy retired from Conoco in October of 1988. He retired from employment with First Baptist Church in January of 1996.

They have lived at their present address for 43 years and have been members of First Baptist Church for the past 45 years.

Martha was employed at Central Office Supply and then later employed with the Ponca City Public Schools for 14 years as a Paraprofessional at Liberty Elementary School.

Guy and Martha are members of the Classic Car Club of Ponca City. Guy is a member of the Silvertone Choir and Adult Choir at First Baptist Church. Martha stays busy serving on the Hospitality Committee at First Baptist Church.

Their children and grand children are; Ray and Kim Anderson of Wichita, Kan., and their sons Adam Anderson; Jason and wife Stephanie Anderson of Wichita, Kan.; Debora and Phil Gooch of Ponca City, Okla. and their sons Nathan Gooch and Ryan Gooch; David and Dondi Anderson and their sons Christian Fearnow and Casey Anderson of Ponca City; and Patricia and Allen Box of Edmond, Okla. and their daughters Kaila and Alicia Box.
