Stringer Jenkins and Margaret Moore were married on Sept. 6, 1952. They have five children; Stan Jenkins, Beth Sepedy, Mary Loraine White, Tommy Jenkins and Lisa Nowosatka.
The children hosted a celebration in honor of their parent’s anniversary on Sat., Sept. 7, 2013. There were many friends and relatives in attendance and a good time was had by all. Guests were entertained by a video montage using hundreds of photos from Stringer and Margaret’s dating years and wedding to the present. The photos included their five children, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren at different stages in their lives. Also included in the photos were the couple’s parents and many of Stringer and Margaret’s siblings, nieces and nephews.
There were hors d’oeuvres served including silver dollar sandwiches, vegetable tray with dip, meat and cheese pinwheel wraps, deviled eggs, a variety of chips and dips, a cheeseball and crackers, a chocolate fountain with a variety of fruits and other dipping goodies, punch and iced tea. There was also a large cake with buttercream icing decorated with red roses.
Guests were present from Fort Worth, Mesquite, Liberty City, Dawson, Kerens, Barry, Waxahachie, Blooming Grove, Allen, and Wylie. Margaret’s maid of honor, Navada Grounds Hollifield, was present from Blooming Grove and Stringer’s best man, Bud Moore from Blooming Grove, was also in attendance.
