Navarro Regional Hospital Auxiliary won four ribbons at the Texas Association Healthcare Volunteers annual state convention held May 31 through June 1 at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine.
The auxiliary received first place for tray favors. The volunteers made tray favors for the patient trays during holidays such as Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
First place was also awarded to the auxiliary for poster and newsletter categories. The volunteers made a poster portraying some of the pictures throughout the year. The newsletter was done every three months to keep volunteers updated. The auxiliary received second place in the scrapbook category with a score of 298 out of 300. This book showed, month by month, each volunteer and their service to the hospital such as activities, fund-raisers, community events, etc.
Navarro Regional Hospital Auxiliary was the only group to win four ribbons — one for each category entered.
There were 138 hospitals represented with 932 volunteers. Fourteen volunteers from the NRH Auxiliary attended plus Connie Beal, auxiliary coordinator, and Pat Sullivan, chief nursing officer.
