Ruby ‘Inez’ Odom Gorden

Ruby “Inez” Odom Gorden was born Feb. 21, 1927, in Corsicana and joined her beloved husband Billy D. Gorden Sr. and the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008.

Inez was loved by so many, and will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Inez was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, but most of all she was a loving Christian person that touched the lives of so many.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery with Brother Bill Honea officiating.

Inez loved and cherished her friends and family. Inez enjoyed fishing, camping, arrowhead hunting and working in her yard. She was a dedicated wife of 60 years and a hard working homemaker and mother of three sons that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her father and mother, Rube and Grace; and brother, Lenorald Odom.

Inez is survived by her sons, Billy D. Jr. and Nelda Gorden, Donald Wayne and Joyce Gorden, and Rodney Lee and Mona Gorden; grandchildren, Terry, Tim, Tony, and Chris Gorden, Donald Jr., Patrick and Amber Gorden, and Lance and Laury Gorden; great-grandchildren, Justin, Brittany, Megan, Cross, Christian, Josh, Jody, Maura, Logan, Kaitlin, Colton, Tatum, Makayla, Laynie, Delayna, Peyton, Lawson, Addyson and Kyndall; great-great-grandchildren, Elijah, Heath, Hannah and Michael; brother, Ron Odom and his wife Marsha; sister, Todd Whitfield and husband Ray; sister-in-law, Peggy Odom; brothers-in-law, Ray Dean Gorden and his wife Mary, Elton Gorden and his wife Nancy, and Raymond Gorden and his wife Patsy; and sister-in-law, Daisy Scruggs.
