Merriman-Strickland Engagement

— Mr. and Mrs. Charles Michael Moore of Fairfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Lynn Merriman, to David Kyle Strickland, son of Jane Webb of Waco and George Walton Strickland III of Waco.
Grandparents of the bride-to-be are Dr. and Mrs. Harold Shaver of Fairfield and Mrs. Ken Edwards and the late Marvin Eugene Merriman of Shreveport, La. The prospective groom’s grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George Walton Strickland of Waco and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Edwin Webb of Nevada, Texas.
A November wedding is planned and will be held in Dallas. The ceremony will take place in the Lay Ornamental Gardens of the Dallas Arboretum with a reception following at the Arboretum’s historical plantation home, The Camp House. The site overlooks White Rock Lake.
Miss Merriman is a 2001 graduate of Fairfield High School and a 2005 graduate of Baylor University where she obtained degrees in business and broadcast journalism. She is currently employed as the communications director for the southern division of Dillard’s, Inc.
Mr. Strickland is a 1997 graduate of Community High School in Nevada, Texas and a 2000 graduate of Baylor University. He is currently self-employed and is based out of Washington D.C. and the Middle East.
Both currently reside in Fort Worth.
