Corsicana — Appreciates support

To the Editor: I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community and school family of Blooming Grove ISD for ten wonderful years.  Each of you will always have a special place in our hearts.

Pam and I would like to thank you for making us a part of your lives. We could not have asked for a better place or a better family to raise our children. Our kids’ success in the future is largely due to the roles that you played in their lives. We will carry fond memories with us into our next adventure of the people, staff, and students at “The Garden Spot of Navarro County.”

I also would like to thank each and every member of the Blooming Grove ISD board of trustees, past and present, for your vision to make Blooming Grove ISD the greatest school district in the state of Texas. Your efforts largely are ignored, but I want to express my gratitude personally for your service.

If I can ever be of assistance in the future, feel free to call or come by to see us.  You will be in our thoughts and prayers for your continued success.

Eternally yours,

Mike and Pam Baldree

Gratitude expressed

To the Editor: Thank you to the businesses and individuals who so generously offered their time and financial support to make the 1st Team Supreme Youth Track Team “Fish Fry” a success. The youth, parents and Coach Terry Douglas really appreciate the community support. This was our first event of this magnitude, we have learned a lot to make the next one even better.  We thank you for being patient, it was all about supporting our youth.

Special Thanks to: Emmanuel Baptist Church; David Hawthorne, New Orleans Saints; Danieal Manning, Houston Texans; Jessie family; Sidney Davis; McCoy’s Building Supply; Heritage Oaks Retirement Village; Heritage Oaks West; Bethany Home Health; Country Meadows Nursing Home; Educare; Health and Human Services; Brent Moore, D.D.S; Home Town Pharmacy; Jerry and Denise Brown; Mike and Anelle Richardson; Gordon and Vickie Smith; Carl Terrell.

Also Corsicana Post Office and Tractor Supply, sorry we could not get to your order, thanks for the support.

 Gwan Hawthorne

To the Editor: According to a Gallup poll, 73 percent of the American people are in favor of term limits.
If you are one of those Americans favoring term limits there is good news. Term limits exist — they are called ELECTIONS.

Now that the holidays for 2013 are behind us and we’ve had a brief moment to reflect back on all that has transpired, I can say that we at The Salvation Army are humbled and amazed by how this community came together to help meet the needs of so many struggling people.

As a volunteer with the Angels of Corsicana Troop Support, most of my time all year is spent on items, especially Christmas cards, to fill the stockings when we pack in December.
