Corsicana Daily Sun
As a volunteer with the Angels of Corsicana Troop Support, most of my time all year is spent on items, especially Christmas cards, to fill the stockings when we pack in December. And there are some individuals/groups to whom I want to say a special that you for their contributions: Pat Schroeder and her friend for beautiful Christmas stockings and candy bags, Patty Knauth and the retired teachers as well as members of the local Vietnam Vets chapter for candy to fill the bags and much more, ladies of the Emmett and Wortham church groups for all kinds of items, Republican Women for socks, elementary students at Mildred for Christmas cards, Pam Lane’s elementary classes at Kerens for letters to the troops, Corrine and Rick Thompson for breakfast bars, Christmas cards from everywhere (I write a “thank you” note in each of these), and finally so many others who contributed so much ... I wish I knew all your names.
These Christmas packages prompted a note I received from a Capt. Erik Matson, “... Thank you so much for your Care Packages! They definitely lifted our spirits.”
It’s notes like this that keep me going and I hope you also. Again, a sincere thank you to everyone!
