Grateful for care
To the Editor: I am writing to discuss my recent experience with both Navarro Regional Emergency Department and Corsicana Fire Department.
I have worked, in some capacity, with Navarro Regional as a RN since 2004. Until recently I think I truly did not realize what a special group of people that I’ve worked with for the past eight years. I hear so much negativity regarding Navarro Regional, but let me just say that as a group you would be hard pressed to find a finer group of nurses or doctors to care for you or your loved ones.
A few days ago my 5 year old son injured his eye. We immediately brought him to the ER at Navarro. He was triaged immediately and assessed by the staff on that day. I have been an ER/ICU nurse for over 10 years, but when it is your child things are much different. The staff that day treated my son and my family with such respect and care I know I would be hard pressed to find that type of care anywhere. We received excellent care and were transferred via ambulance to and arrived at Children’s in Dallas in less than three hours from our arrival to the ER at Navarro. That is amazing.
As a staff member in the ER/ICU at Navarro I see it every day, but it brings on a whole new meaning when it is your family member being treated. Thanks to the care we received at Navarro in collaboration with Children’s my son is home and doing great. I could never name them all, but Lisa, Melissa, Debbie, Dr. Drain, and Dr. Vinson went above and beyond to treat my son that night along with Paramedics Jenkins and Campbell with CFD-EMS.
Thank you is simply not enough. I am truly proud to say that I work with a great group of people on a daily basis and this situation simply proved that.
Navarro County is fortunate to have a facility that provides state of the art care and treatment to their loved ones.
