Court is right
To the Editor: The Daily Sun reported that the Supreme Court is allowing Texas to continue enforcing abortion restrictions that opponents say have led more than a third of state's clinics to stop providing abortions, as those doctors don't have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.
Even though abortions are still legal, it hurts my heart to hear of the millions of babies killed every year, while many women needlessly use abortion as a birth control. Many women are complaining that it's not legal to have an abortion after a 20 week pregnancy, they want it to be legal to have one at six, seven and eight months.
This is a sad state of affairs that our country has got into — seeing women parading, carrying signs to promote abortions be performed at any time that it is convenient to them. I guess they don't want to be bothered using birth control pills, and when they do they are also protesting and parading paying for their own. They want us to pay for that also. I believe they cost about $9 a month. That's just about the cost of a hamburger, fries and a drink. I think most people can afford that.
I paid for my own. I don't want to pay for anyone else's.

Now that the holidays for 2013 are behind us and we’ve had a brief moment to reflect back on all that has transpired, I can say that we at The Salvation Army are humbled and amazed by how this community came together to help meet the needs of so many struggling people.

District Court, Court-At-Law Jury must report
To the Editor: I want to thank each citizen who has responded to jury service since I took the bench in 2009. Without your response and participation, the right that we are all guaranteed under our U.S. and Texas constitutions would not be able to be exercised.
