Summers 65th Anniversary

Norman and “Bobbie” Summers will celebrate 65 years of marriage on Sept. 30, 2013. They were married in Dallas at the home of C.B. Mobly, a family friend, by Rev. John Poe Hensley.

The two met at the Methodist hospital in Dalals were Bobbie was a student nurse and Norman was just out of the Army and was carrying mail in Dallas. They were married after Bobbie finished school in 1948.

They moved to Navarro County, Dawson, Texas in 1960. Norman carried rural mail route and Bobbie, a registered nurse, worked a the old Navarro Hospital and later at the schools of Navarro and Hill Counties as school nurse.

Two children of the Summers were Ray, deceased in 1955; and Kay Langford of Temple. They also have three grandsons, Doug Summers of Whitney, Aaron Langford of Georgetown and Micah Langford of Temple.

Norman sold real estate for amny years under Claude Burnett agency in the Dawson area. He retired from the postal system in 1980 and Bobbie quit the schools in about 1979. They live in Dawson and would love to hear from any acquaintances they have known at P.O. Box 387, Dawson TX 76639.
