Virdie Davis Birthday

Virdie Davis celebrated “80 and some change” with her family on May 2, 2014 at The Cook Center, catered by Aguado’s.

Family members from California to Brooklyn, N.Y. and many points between came to Corsicana to celebrate the birthday of an important lady. The theme was “Then and Now,” and the color scheme was green and gray.

“It was a long time in the planning,” said Davis.

Master and Mistress of Ceremonies were Virgil and Vanessa Watson. The greeting was given by Vickie O’Hara, following an opening prayer given by Virgil Watson. Dinner and a slide show followed, then a poem recited by Natalie Watson.

Expressions of love were given by Aaron Radford, Fred Watson, Leslie Watson and Rayana Watson. “Then and Now” facts were shared by Byron Watson. The Happy Birthday song was performed by Tessa Price and the Watson brothers, then the cake was served.

The celebration closed with acknowledgements by Donald Watson, and a closing prayer given by William Watson.

Guests were present from Lavon, Texas; Plano, DeSoto, Denver, Colorado; Atlanta, Georgia; Raleigh Durham, N.C.; Brooklyn, N.Y.; Freedom, California; and Austin.
