Harwell 50th Anniversary

David Amos Harwell and Carol Ann Moore Harwell are celebrating 50 years of marriage on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013.

The couple were married on Nov. 23, 1963 in the home of Carol’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Z.B. “Rusty” Moore.

Davis is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Amos Harwell of Tupelo. Carol is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Z.B. “Rusty” Moore of Corsicana.

After the couple married they resided in Corsicana for six years and then moved to Tupelo, where they reside at the present time. David was a co-owner of Harwell Brothers Garage in Corsicana until it closed in 1980. David then was employed by the City of Corsicana for 20 years until he retired in 2003. Carol is employed at Corsicana ISD in the Child Nutrition Cafeteria Office. She has 45 years of service and is still working.

The couple was blessed with two sons, David A. Harwell Jr. and his wife Tamra of Tupelo, and  Toby L. Harwell, also of Tupelo. They have three granddaughters, Brittany Martin of Tupelo, Stephanie Martin of Corpus Christi and Hannah Harwell of Rice. They have one grandson, Brayden Harwell of Rice.
