Mid-South Christian College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Robert Griffin as the “Acting Academic Dean” for the spring 2014 semester.
Dr. Griffin holds an M.Div in Old Testament from Harding School of Theology and a Ph.D. in Ancient Near Eastern History from the University of Memphis. As a graduate of Mid-South Christmas College, Dr. Griffin has also been serving as an adjunct professor since January 2001. In addition to his teaching responsibilities at MSCC, he has also taught courses at the University of Memphis and Florida Christian College. In 2004 and 2005 Robert was part of an Epigraphic Survey Team in Luxor, Egypt recording battle inscriptions of Ramesses II.
Dr. Griffin is not only a scholar, but a dedicated Christian minister. He has held preaching ministries in Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee since 1982. For the last 16 years he has been the preaching minister at the First Christian Church in Chestnut Bluff, Tenn.
Robert met his wife, Lisa Romine Griffin, at Mid-South Christian College when they were both students. Robert and Lisa have two sons, Kyle and Erik, both of whom are married. Robert is looking forward to being a grandfather for the first time in June of this year. Robert is the son of Gordon and Sammie Griffin of Blooming Grove.
Wray Graham, Mid-South Christian College’s previous Academic Dean, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Nov. 28, 2013. While it would be impossible to replace Wray, the college is fortunate to be able to count on Dr. Robert Griffin to step in and fulfill the role of Acting Academic Dean.
