Gegenheimer-Burns Wedding

Ashley Renee Gegenheimer and Mark Adam Burns were married April 26, 2014, at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio. The Rev. Jason White performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Marlene Gegenheimer and Robert Gegenheimer and granddaughter of Jack and Doris Barnes. The groom is the son of Chuck and Lisa Burns and grandson of Marvin and Dot Burns and Chuck and Pam Burns Sr.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by the groom’s sister, Melanie King, as matron of honor and Cristina Moya as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Katelyn Nease, Aly Starling, Chelsea David-Nickolay, Erica Herzik, Bianca Alanis & Hollie Inwood. Junior bridesmaids were Katie York and Anna York.

Ira Jamshidi and Matt Burns were the best men.

Groomsmen were Phillip Dahlen, Ian David, Gurpreet Singh, Aaron McCary, Kyle King and Stephen Gegenheimer. Ushers were Justin Garcia and Logan York.

Madison King and Kylee York were the flower girls.

Zane York was the ringbearer.

Ashley wore an ivory gown embroidered with lace and adorned with Swarkorski crystals, pearls and sequins with a matching belt by David Tutera. Her veil was a custom-made three-tier blusher with cathedral-length train and studded with sequins. She carried a gorgeous bouquet of yellow and orange lilies, hot pink roses, alstromerias and dahlias wrapped in fushia satin ribbon.

The couple was married under the gazebo on the wedding lawn overlooking the golf course. The gazebo was draped with white sheers and accented by floral arrangements in tall silver urns. Melanie King sang “When You Kiss Me” by Shania Twain during the unity sand ceremony.

The wedding party and guests then moved into the hotel grand ballroom for dinner and dancing.

The bride’s four-tiered bling cake was filled with strawberry and lemon creme and decorated with rhinestone crystals and swirls.

Since the bride and groom both graduated from the University of Texas, the groom’s cake was a replica of the UT football stadium. The ice sculpture was in the shape of the UT tower to commemorate where Mark proposed to Ashley on her graduation night.

The newlyweds exited the hotel through family and friends waving lighted sparklers. They rode off together in a horse drawn Cinderella carriage to complete the fairy-tale wedding. They will honeymoon this summer in St. Lucia and reside in Rockwall, Texas.
