Corsicana — Moody named to Dean’s List

Katelyn Moody of Corsicana was named to the Dean’s List at Stephen F. Austin University for the spring semester. Her academic placement is in the top 14 percent of the full-time majors in the College of Sciences and Mathematics.

Katelyn is the daughter of Tim and Syma Moody.

Corsicana High School Calicos

The Corsicana High School Calico Dance Team held its line camp July 29 to Aug. 2. The team worked on dances they will perform during football game half-time shows. On Thursday of the line camp, they received awards. The next day they visited businesses in uniform to collect donations for the bootbacker fundraiser campaign. If you wish to donate to the Calicos organization please contact Susan Dockery at (903) 654-7838. The camp ended with a bowling party at Bulldog Lanes to celebrate a week of dancing and learning.

Taylor 100th Birthday

Woodrow Taylor celebrated his 100th on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 with family at Fiesta Grill.

He has lived in Corsicana for about 30 years. Originally from Houston, he was a welder with his own shop, and a veteran with the United States Army serving as military police in World War II.

He was joined by his two oldest grandchildren to celebrate this birthday, Mark and Barbara Soukup and Brenda Carpenter.

Hambrick 90th Birthday
