Jeffrey Ward

Jeffrey Ward is the son of Larry and Cristin Ward of Atascocita, and the grandson of Eddie and Susan Denbow of Corsicana.  He is a 2010 graduate of Atascocita High School, where he was a member of the AHS Eagle Band and also a member of the AHS Acapella choir.

Jeffrey has always had a deep desire to serve in our United States military.  Even as a young child, he could be found engrossed in anything about history on TV, especially World War II.  All his life, he heard stories from his Pepaw, Rev. Freddie Ward, about bailing out of his airplane, being picked up by the Germans, riding for days in a rail car, and eventually spending 23 months in Stalag 17B prisoner of war camp.  Just recently, at the age of 92, we lost this dear man, and Jeffrey had the honor of presenting the United States Flag to his grandmother, Freddie’s widow, Frances Ward of Kilgore.

Jeffrey just recently graduated from Radio Field Operator school and is assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He has a strong love for God, which we know is the basis for making him an outstanding Marine.

I am typically not an anxious person. Yes I like to get things done, rather than leave loose ends; that may make me a little anxious.

  • samantha stroube daviss.jpg Take time to breathe

We are all in such a rush these days that time is passing us by and I don’t even think we realize it. This year our family decided to stay home for Spring Break and have a “stay-cation.” I had such feelings of guilt not taking our kids somewhere, because we love to take every opportunity to expose them to the world, but it just wasn’t in the cards for us this year.
