Jones named to United States Achievement Academy
The United States Achievement Academy announced that Ajah M. Jones from Corsicana has been recognized by the academy as a student of excellence in advanced placement.
Ajah M. Jones, who attends Corsicana High School, was nominated for this honor by Amanda Wallace, a teacher at the school. Ajah will appear in the United States Achievement Academy’s Official Yearbook which is published nationally.
The Academy recognized students upon the exclusive recmmendation of teachers, coaches, counselors, and other qualified sponsors and upon the Standards for Selection set forth by the Academy. The Standards for Selection include academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, enthusiasm, motivation to learn and improve, attitude and cooperative spirit, dependability, and recommendation from a qualified sponsor.
Ajah M. Jones is the daughter of Tracy Jones-Edom from Corsicana. Her grandparents are Bessie and Chester Jones of Corsicana.
Commiato named to UT Tyler Honor Roll
The University of Texas at Tyler has named Carly Commiato to the President’s Honor Roll for the 2014 spring semester, President Rodney H. Mabry announced. To be named to the President’s Honor Roll at UT Tyler, a student must have completed, in one semester, 12 or more semester credit hours with grades of “A” in all courses that carry grade points.
