Burkey-Myers Engagement

On Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, Helen Mary Burkey will make a lifelong commitment to be the wife of Elliot Dan Myers. The couple met four years ago at a swing dancing venue, Al Moro Swing & Blues, in Phoenix, Ariz.

Helen is the daughter of Brad Burkey and Helen McCready. She grew up in Scottsdale, Ariz. along with her three brothers Wes, Bobby, and Ben. She studied psychology at Arizona State University.

Elliot is the son of Brad and Zoey Myers of Harrisville, W. Va. and the grandson of Calvin and LaVerne Myers of Corsicana. He is a native Texan who grew up in the Denton area along with his older sister, Haley.

Helen and Elliot recently moved to Virginia from Arizona where they, along with their two kitties, enjoy the cooler temperatures, greener scenery and closer proximity to the family in West Virginia. Both work in the financial industry in the D.C. area.

They will exchange vows at Spruce Grove Church, Harrisville, surrounded by their family and a few close friends.
