The American Legion Post 22 is holding its third annual brisket, spare rib, and jackpot bean contest. To enter brisket and ribs the cost will be $40 and Beans will be $10. Registration will be at noon on Friday at the post, 632 N. Beaton St., Corsicana. Judging will be at noon on Saturday, followed by lunch plates for $7, and a sandwich and chips will be sold for $5. There will be a garage sale on Saturday. Breakfast will be served from 9 to 11 a.m. for $5. Limited RV spaces are available. Emhouse School Reunion
The Emhouse School reunion will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Taylorosa Special Event Center, on West Hwy. 22 and FM 744. There will be a special presentation on the history of Emhouse and recollection of days past. Please bring a favorite dish and share a meal. Mildred Eagles Cheerleaders are partnering with Beck Animal Clinic to sponsor a low cost vaccination clinic at Mildred High School from 10 a.m. to noon. Shots for dogs, cats, and horses will be available. For cost details please check out the school website at www.mildredisd.org then select “Clubs/Activities” then “Cheer. The Navarro County Humane Society will also be onsite for adoptions and they will collect donated dry or canned dog and/or cat food.
