Instead, authorities say, he went on the killing spree that left 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas, dead.

    Soldiers who witnessed the shooting rampage at Fort Hood that left 13 people dead reported that the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!" — an Arabic phrase for "God is great!" — before opening fire, the base commander said Friday.

    Dawson High School junior class will host a chili supper fund-raiser from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the DHS cafeteria before the football game. Donations will be $5 for people ages and older and $3 for children younger than 12. The meal will include chili, crackers, iced tea and dessert. Extra desserts will be auctioned off afterwards. Money raised from the event will go towards the prom.
