Police crackdown on DWI

If you’re going to drink and drive, think twice before you do it in Corsicana.

Corsicana Police made nine arrests over the weekend for DWI, Sgt. Kenneth Kirkwood said Monday.

Police made one DWI arrest Friday evening, three between midnight and 2 a.m. Saturday, three between midnight and 2 a.m. Sunday, and two more on Sunday evening.

In reports filed with the Corsicana Police Department and Navarro County Sheriff’s Department on Monday:



Corsicana Police Department



• Sgt. Mark Nanny made an arrest for possession of marijuana under two ounces in the 1100 block of North Seventh Street.

• Sgt. Mark Nanny responded to a report of retaliation in the 700 block of East 10th Avenue.

• Officer Scott Tidwell responded to a report of burglary of a motor vehicle in the 1100 block of Elmwood.

• Officer Jeran Garner responded to a report of class A assault in the 400 block of North Bunert.

• Officer Kenneth Darby responded to a report of burglary of a habitation in the 1200 block of Northwood Blvd.

• Officer Angela Reed made an arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia in the 800 block of East Third Avenue.

• Officer Rex Givens responded to a report of burglary in the 400 block of North 21st Street.

• Det. Paul Jock made an arrest for possession of a controlled substance under one gram in the 1400 block of West Ninth Avenue.

• Sgt. Mark Nanny responded to a report of burglary of a building in the 3000 block of North Business 45.

• Officer Daniel Putman responded to a report of assault in the 1000 block of South 28th Street.

• Officer Sean Eggleston responded to a report of burglary of a motor vehicle in the 1900 block of East Seventh Avenue.



Navarro County Sheriff’s Department



• Deputy Charles Dreier responded to a report of burglary of a habitation in the 4100 block of NWCR 4200 in Frost.

• Deputy Casey Gaston responded to a report of burglary of a motor vehicle in the 4900 block of NWCR 0024 in Corsicana.

• Deputy Scott Stephens responded to a report of burglary of a habitation in the 6700 block of NWCR 1140 in Emhouse.

• Deputy Scott Stephens responded to a report of burglary of a habitation in the 14000 block of SWCR 2180 in Richland.

• Deputy Fredia Wafer responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 7000 block of NWCR 0141 in Rice.

• Deputy Dante Johnson made an arrest for public intoxication at South Colket and FM 3096 in Kerens.
