Abundant Life Fellowship, 3900 Farm-to-Market Road 744, where the Rev. Tim Gillian is pastor, will have a potluck luncheon following the 10:30 a.m. praise and worship service. Everyone is invited to bring a covered dish and join in this time of fellowship.



Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church will have its NAD International Day of Prayer women’s day program March 7. Elder Fannie M. Bell, a Christian lady and prayer warrior, has been invited to be the guest speaker. The theme for the day will be “Praying, Staying Power.” The women are to wear shades of blue, preferably navy and royal blue. The program will begin at 9:15 a.m. with Sabbath school, 11 a.m. for divine worship service and 2 p.m. for the afternoon presentation on prayer, “Prayer Changes Things.” All women’s ministries’ leaders from the churches in the community and surrounding areas are cordially invited to be a part of this international day of prayer program and come to be a representative for their church congregation. In 1964, Bell graduated from Second Ward High School in Holley, La. After Bell’s high school graduation she enrolled at Grambling College with a major in mathematics which she later changed to political science. While at Grambling, she met the love of her life, Thomas R. Bell. In 1974, Thomas introduced Fannie to the Three Angels’ Message of Revelation. She immediately embraced the message and on March 17, 1978, Thomas and Fannie were married. Two boys resulted from this marriage, Thaddaeus and Comfort Bell. Bell is a very gifted seamstress, who is also blessed with numerous other gifts and talents. In 2007, she was called by God to be an elder of the Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church in Mansfield, La.

Pastor of the Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church is Dr. Norman Stiggers, women’s ministries coordinator is Minister Clara King, and family ministries coordinator is Dr. Lorraine Stiggers.



Corsicana Ministerial Alliance will meet at 1:30 p.m. March 4 at Calvary Worship Center’s Christian Youth Center (located in the old Fullerton Grocery Store), at the intersection of Beaton and 13th streets and Northwood Boulevard. Eureka United Methodist Church has once again prepared the “cross walk” as a part of its Lenten outreach. The public is invited to come share in this. The display of 40 crosses represents the 40 days of Lent. The crosses have all been decorated by families of the congregation as a way of sharing the message of Jesus’ love and hope with others. Each cross is unique and was made to praise and bring glory to God. It is hoped, as you walk the path, you will meditate on the devotions, inspirational messages and prayers. It is hoped that each person who takes the “cross walk” will receive a blessing and go forth to share their love for Christ.

There are two crosses with a box of booklets for your convenience and guidance. In order to match the devotions with the crosses, there is a small number in the ground at the right of each cross which corresponds with the numbers in the booklet. After you have completed your walk, you may keep the booklet if you wish. If not, please return it to one of the boxes.

Eureka United Methodist Church is located approximately 14 miles south of Corsicana on U.S. Highway 287. You may take this walk anytime between Ash Wednesday (Feb. 25) and Easter (April 12).



First United Methodist Church, 320 N. 15th St., will host the joint area United Methodist Youth fellowship from 3:50 to 7 p.m. March 1. All junior and senior high school students and their parents are invited to a special IMPACT presentation by Sgt. Kenneth Authier of the Department of Public Safety. He will speak on the effects of drug and alcohol use in the area. Join in for this informative and insightful discussion followed by pizza and worship.



Greater Love Outreach Fellowship Church, 700 E. Park Ave., will have its women’s department program at 4 p.m. March 1. The speaker will be Evangelist Shirl Cline from Dallas. All women are asked to come out in red attire and be blessed by a powerful woman of God. The theme will be “Women of Faith in Trying Times.” William Lewis Jr. is pastor, Marylyn Lewis is first lady and Missionary Mary Jo Dixon is women’s department overseer.



Greater Wilgo Baptist Church, 621 E. First Ave., will observe its pastor and wife, Arthur C. and Mary Faulk, in seventh appreciation services at 11 a.m. March 8. Guest speaker will be Minister Otis Tolliver of Mount B. Zion Baptist Church in Goodlow, where the Rev. Nathan Carter is pastor. You are invited to join in on this glorious occasion as love and appreciation are shown for seven years of spiritual leadership, faithfulness and dedicated service that has been rendered by Pastor Faulk.



Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County, 4495 W. State Highway 22, invites you to join in at 10 a.m. each Sunday for worship. At 7 p.m. each Friday, there is team roping and basic horsemanship training in the arena. On Feb. 28, a team roping event will be held. Books will open at 10 a.m. and roping will begin at 11 a.m. Buckles will be presented to the high point header and heeler. Concessions will be available. At 5 p.m. March 1, there will be a fish fry dinner to kick-off the capital campaign to raise funds for construction of the new children’s building. Weather permitting, there is roping practice at 7 p.m. Tuesdays in the arena. A Bible study is held at 7 p.m. Wednesdays. Love Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 400 N. Benton St., will honor Pastor David E. Wilson in recognition services. A pre-service will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 28. Guest churches and singers will be Hopewell Baptist Church, Grace Temple AME Church, Samaria Baptist Church, Bethel AME Church, Mount B. Services will continue at 3:30 p.m. March 1. Guest church will be Greater Deliverance Church of God in Christ in Waxahachie with the spoken word by Pastor David Williams. The theme for the occasion will be “A True Shepherd at Work” from the scripture text Jeremiah 3:15.

Men’s Community Prayer Breakfast will meet at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Lone Star Room of the Walker Dining Hall on the Navarro College campus. This meeting is open to all men in the community. New Birth Sanctuary Church of God in Christ, 805 S. 15th St., where D.R. Washington Sr. is pastor and Sister Sonji Washington is first lady, will celebrate the first church anniversary at 3:30 p.m. March 1. New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 201 N.E. Fourth St., Kerens, where the Rev. Samuel Washington is pastor, will have an old-time community revival at 7:30 p.m. March 2-6. God’s messengers will be Pastor Nathan Carter of Mount B. Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church will have its Lord’s Acre March 7 with a barbecue dinner and auction at the Fannie Mae Vernon Room, located at the corner of State Highway 22 and 45th Street.
