Hubbard Chamber of Commerce has announced that it has joined the Historic Chisholm Trail Society. Hubbard will become one of the towns to celebrate the Texas cowboys that made the made the Chisholm Trail famous.
This year’s annual three-day Memorial Day event scheduled for May 23-25 has been titled “Hubbard Memorial Day Weekend Trade Days and Chisholm Trail Celebration.” During 2009, numerous cities and towns along the Chisholm Trail will hold various events to honor those more than 50,000 Texas cowboys that gave their all to drive five million cattle over the deadly Chisholm Trail.
During Hubbard’s Memorial Day weekend, this year’s rodeo will also be a part of the Chisholm Trail Celebration. The Hubbard Rodeo Association invites you to attend the seventh annual Lone Star Rodeo and Chisholm Trail Celebration May 23-24 at the Mooney Holloway Arena, located on State Highway 31, next to the Hubbard Livestock Commission. It will be produced by the Cadillac Rodeo Company. Start time will be 8 p.m. May 23 with a 2 p.m. matinee performance on May 24. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and 1 p.m. respectively. Admission will be $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for children ages 4 and under.
There will be a grand entry at each performance highlighted by a performance by The Heart of Texas CowGirls, a professional rodeo drill team. The Heart of Texas CowGirls were established in 2006 for nonprofit gain while providing equestrian entertainment and developing horsemanship skills among friends. The team was established by seven core members who possess more than 50 combined years of drill team experience. These members wanted to share their love of horses and “drilling” with other ladies.
The night of May 23, a hospitality area will be provided for rodeo sponsors complete with a western chuck wagon and plenty of good food.
Sponsorships are available at five different levels which range from the Tin Star level at $50, which includes two tickets to the hospitality area, all the way to the Platinum Star level for $1,000 which includes six tickets to the hospitality area, a lifetime membership into the Hubbard Rodeo Association, a sponsor sign in the arena, and special seating during the rodeo. It’s not too late to purchase a sponsorship.
