Warren to resign City’s P&Z position

Sherri Warren, director of planning and zoning for the City of Corsicana, has tendered her resignation, saying she’s ready for a change.

Warren has been with the city for eight years, and has been director of the department for four years.

“I feel as though the last four years I’ve spent in my role at P and Z for Corsicana has been successful,” said Warren in a press release announcing the opening. “It’s now time for another director to take over the ground work that has been laid.”

The department includes the director, administrative assistant and two secretaries, according to the press release.

“Our role is not only code enforcement, it is communication and assistance to help our city maintain and grow in a healthy direction,” Warren stated. “We do not want to be seen as ‘creating barriers’; we truly want to help in any way we can.”

Warren will remain on the job until a replacement has been found.

“Sherri has certainly done an amazing job for Corsicana. She will be greatly missed,” said City Manager Connie Stand-

ridge.
