A lengthy session of the Navarro County Grand Jury Thursday found 76 indictments handed down against 64 individuals.
Among those who saw indictment returned were Clay Asby Zona, indicted in connection with a string of burglaries that occurred at a number of car wash businesses in Corsicana in April 2009. He was indicted on four counts of burglary of a building.
Indicted on charges of burglary of a business and possession of controlled substances were Francisco Perales Jr. and Dustin Kyle Garcia. The two men are alleged to have burglarized Hilliard Drug Store in Kerens, and allegedly removing prescription drugs from the business.
Four individuals were indicted on charges stemming from alleged welfare and benefits fraud. Linda Hawthorne, Shemetra B. Duncan, Kasondra Odling and Tabitha Nicole Way were all indicted on charges of securing execution of document by deception.
Salvador G. Martinez was indicted on 10 counts of aggravated sexual assault. The assaults allegedly involved an underage female, and occurred over a period of about two years, according to R. Lowell Thompson, district attorney.
The current grand jury panel will meet one more time in June before being replaced by a new panel in July. Grand jurors serve a three-month term, and typically meet once monthly to hear cases presented by prosecutors.
