Parks and Recreation programs provide summertime activities

From Staff Reports

Kids in Corsicana can’t say there is “nothing to do” this summer, thanks to the Corsicana Parks and Recreation Department’s summer programs.

Youngsters can take part in several remaining activities scheduled through mid-August, most featuring “hands-on” projects and interesting fun for children of all ages. Parents must pre-register children for the summer programs.

Activities remaining on the City’s summer schedule:

• First Responder’s Day at IOOF Park from 9 a.m. until noon on July 8.

• Collin Street Bakery tour, 10 a.m. until noon July 9.

• KAND Live Radio Tour, 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. July 11 (ages 10 and up).

• Cassady’s Glamour Day at Cassady’s Hair Carousel & Boutique, 9 a.m. until noon July 14. (ages 12 and up).

• Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 22 to 24.

• Baking with Royal Chef Alisia Greer at Calvary Worship Center, 10 a.m. until noon July 23 (ages 8 and up).

• Three strikes at Corsicana Park Lanes 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 15 to 17 (ages 8 and up).

In addition to the scheduled activities, the Spray Parks and city pools at both Bunert Park and Jester Park are open for summer swimming and fun. For more information or to register for the summer programs, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (903) 654-4800.
