New Beginnings group of Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7 p.m. every Monday in the family activities building at First United Methodist Church, 320 N. 15th St. All meetings are non-smoking.

Free GED, ESL and literacy classes are offered in Corsicana, Ennis, Fairfield, Ferris, Mexia, Midlothian, Red Oak and Waxahachie. Day and evening classes are available. Educational materials will be provided in the classroom. Navarro County Animals at Risk Foundation meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of every month in the sunroom at Heritage Oaks West. Visitors and anyone interested in animal welfare are always welcome. NCARF is also collecting empty ink jet cartridges, empty laser cartridges and digital cell phones to be recycled. Money received from the recycling will help the homeless and neglected animals of Navarro County. Instead of just tossing these items away, save them and save the life of a deserving cat or dog. Navarro County Reach to Recovery, a service offered free of charge, is a division of the American Cancer Society.
