Fire completely destroyed a single-family home located on Grey Thompson Road near Emhouse Thursday morning.
No one was at home at the time of the fire, according to Donald McMullan, Corsicana fire chief. Corsicana firefighters joined several volunteer agencies in battling the blaze.
“About half of the back portion of the house had collapsed when units first arrived on the scene,” McMullan said. The blaze then quickly spread to the front of the house, completely engulfing the structure, he said.
“(The front) collapsed pretty quickly after the arrival of the units,” he said.
McMullan said his agency is handling the investigation of the fire that destroyed the home.
“The family that lives there wasn’t home ... right now we just don’t know what happened,” he said.
Among the volunteer agencies that responded to the fire were Corbet/Oak Valley, Rice, Chatfield and Emhouse, McMullan said.
There were no injuries sustained in the incident.
