Corsicana Police clear burglaries

The Corsicana Police Department, with the assistance of Navarro College Police, were able to clear up more than a dozen burglaries in the early morning hours Friday.

“This happened about 2 or 3 a.m.,” said Capt. Ken Kirkwood with the Corsicana Police Department.

One man has been arrested, but as of Friday afternoon had not yet been arraigned on charges.

“They were all business burglaries,” Kirkwood said. “Sgt. (Mark) Nanny arrested one guy, there were three of them. We caught them with the assistance of the Navarro College Police Department.”

When officers stopped the car, the other suspects jumped out and fled on foot. College police were able to provide crucial surveillance assistance, Kirkwood said.

A variety of items, including some computers, were found, and the police are still in the process of trying to recover the rest of the stolen goods, he said.
