Art Show winners named

The Navarro Council of the Arts is pleased to announce the 24th Annual National Juried Art Show winners. The National Juried Art Show will be on exhibit the month of September at the Warehouse Gallery located at 119 West Sixth Avenue.
Bob Rohm, OPA, PSA, served as juror of the art show. The opening reception and award presentation was held Saturday.
This art exhibition and competition brings an eclectic mix of entries from artists throughout the United States. Entries include all mediums of work and feature a varied mix. More than 40 artists from across the country and more than 65 works were chosen to this prestigious event.
Eleven Navarro County artists, including June Cade, Donna Ingham, Barbara Jones, Barbara Lewis, Deb Miller, Bobbie Ross, and Margie Taylor were all chosen for the exhibit and have works featured in the display.
Ted Clemens of Sache’s work “World Famous” was chosen as Best of Show. His must see piece features an old Collin Street Bakery covered wagon in downtown more than 100 years ago. The Jane Biltz Excellence in Arts Award was given to Shelia Blakemore of Mico, Texas for her work “Cathedral Park.”
The Award of Merit was given to Tina Bohlman of Waxahachie for her work “Awesome Autumn.” People’s Choice was awarded to Sarah Dawson Dixon of Atlanta, Ga. for her work “Madame Butterfly.” Dixon is active in the art world and is originally from Corsicana.
Honorable Mentions went to Ann Hardy of Colleyville for her work “Limited Paletto Roses,” Shari Hornish of Dallas for her work “Tryst,” MM Kent of Fayetteville, Ark. for “Great Expectations” and Jo Beck of Clifton for her work “A Hole In One.”
This exhibit is the perfect opportunity to see all forms of visual arts and see what is new in the arts world.
The Navarro Council of the Art’s exhibit is on display Monday through Thursday from noon until 5 p.m. and Friday from noon to 4 p.m. in the Warehouse Living Arts Center’s gallery.
