Salvation Army taking Christmas applications
From Staff Reports
The Salvation Army, 212 E. First Ave., will be taking Christmas applications from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 20-24. All applicants must apply in person; no applications will be taken over the phone.
Applicants will need to bring with them to the interview: proof of address and current phone number where they can be reached; proof of income and expenses for the entire household (income — check stubs, food stamps, SSI, Social Security, retirement, child support, any money received in the household; expenses — rent/mortgage, insurance, phone bills, cable/satellite, medical bills, utility bills, credit cards, car note, car insurance, or any other bills paid on a regular basis); ID for all who are to be served (birth certificates, medical cards or other official identification more than just Social Security cards or numbers); and photo ID for the person applying.
One application will be accepted for each address — multiple families at one address must apply together.
Toys will be provided for children, ages 12 and under, living at the address, only. Applicants must show proof that all kids live at the address by food stamp card, tax forms, or school record.
For more information, call The Salvation Army at (903) 874-7131.
