Benefit for Johnnie B. McLain

A ranch sorting will be held Nov. 21 at Lonestar Cowboy Church, 4495 W. Highway 22, to benefit Johnnie B. McLain. A jackpot will take place at 5 p.m., with a drawpot at 7 p.m. There will also be a silent auction.

McLain was injured Oct. 31 when he was hit by a truck which left the roadway, while unloading a four-wheeler in Groesbeck. Both legs were shattered, he has endured three surgeries thus far, and is now on a ventilator.

As a farmer/rancher, being unable to work during his recovery will place a financial hardship on he and his family. As someone who was generally considered “the best around” at ranch sorting, all proceeds from the event will go to McLain.

For more information, contact Katie Smith at (903) 229-7413.
