Help for the holidays

NCADC fundraiser on through Nov. 22

The Navarro County Association for Disabled Citizens has launched a holiday fundraiser that will provide some help in baking holiday cookies and breads for entertaining and parties.

The NCADC is selling pre-portioned cookie dough, brownies, pecan cobbler mix, and three different breads for the holidays. The products are priced at $12.50 each, and must be ordered and pre-paid by Nov. 22. Those who purchase items can expect delivery the week of Dec. 10. To order product, or obtain more information about the fundraiser, contact Marjorie Bentz at (903) 874-4373, or the NCADC office at (903) 872-1931.

The NCADC is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community for over 30 years. It was started by family members wanting a home-like atmosphere for their handicapped child, and has grown to the full-service facility it is today.

The NCADC also operates a workshop that does seasonal work for Collin Street Bakery, and also operates a shredding service utilized by a number of businesses and individuals in the community. Information about the services is available by calling the workshop at (903) 872-1931.

Currently, residents at the NCADC living facility include Mike Flanagan, Lonnie Garcia, Bobby Prescott, Clinton Cowan, Jim Davis, Terry Tate, J.R. Pentecost, Richard Barton, Alvin Evans, Terry Thompson, Pam Lang and Cyndi Rogers.

Workshop clients include Nanette Nicholson, Shundra Ledbetter, Erinn Breen, Jeff Calaway, Jeff Smith, Eric Grant, Joe Gamboa, Crystal Crawford, Ronnie Bluitt, Betty Coleman, Ruth Gibson, Kiki Ponder, Wally O’Valle, Tim Magnus, Shawn Rejcek, Angela Benton, Paula Anderson, Betty Gage, David Zenk and Stanley Roberts.

Ruth Ann Stone is the director of the NCADC. Board members include Mike and Leslie Renee, Dr. Kent and Donna Rogers, Jodie Stephens, Eva Bobalik, John Baker, Tresa Darby, Diane Lang, Janice Bailey, Kay Andrews, Gretchen London, Don Harvey and Harold Evans. Front office, house staff and workshop coaches include Joan Merrell, Sondra Warren, Thelma Harvey, Stella Henry, Marjorie Bentz, Karin Roberts and JoAnn Donaldson.

In addition to the fundraiser underway, donations to the work of the NCADC are always appreciated. Checks may be mailed to the NCADC, P.O. Box 1145, Corsicana, TX 75151.
