FYI 11/14/08

Navarro County Animals at Risk Foundation meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of every month in the sunroom at Heritage Oaks West. Visitors and anyone interested in animal welfare are always welcome. NCARF is also collecting empty ink jet cartridges, empty laser cartridges and digital cell phones to be recycled. Money received from the recycling will help the homeless and neglected animals of Navarro County. Instead of just tossing these items away, save them and save the life of a deserving cat or dog. You can drop off your items at Sonda’s Doggie Doos, 817 N. Main St.; Today Homes, 1131 W. Seventh Ave.; or YMCA, 400 W. Oaklawn. For more information, call (903) 654-3668.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site volunteers are needed to assist with income tax preparation for 2009 at the Corsicana VITA site, which will be located at the YMCA. Donations are accepted from 3 to 5 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at the Community Service Center, located on Garitty Street in Frost. For more information, call (903) 229-0747 or e-mail to frostvfd@yahoo.com.
