If you have one gallon of gas and one hour of your time to touch someone’s life in a special way, then Navarro County Meals on Wheels could use your as a volunteer driver. Volunteers are the heart of the program. So open your heart to someone who needs a hot meal, a warm hello, and a friendly smile, once a week, every other week, or once a month. Navarro County Reach to Recovery, a service offered free of charge, is a division of the American Cancer Society. Services provided include offering support by breast cancer survivors, literature, temporary breast prosthesis, wigs, and other support. Central Appraisal District holds its board meetings at 3 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at 111 E. First Ave.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 11 a.m. Sundays and at 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays at the annex building of Lakeside United Methodist Church, 515 Farm-to-Market Road 416, Streetman (St. Elmo community).
