First Baptist Church, 510 W. Collin St. will have its Christmas Eve service Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. This will be a candlelight service and the Lord's Supper will be served. Collin Street, in Corsicana will be serving a Christmas meal Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Family Life Center on the corner of N. 15th Street and West Fifth Avenue. This is a free meal for anyone in the community. First Baptist Church has served the Christmas meal for at least 10 years. Also, meals will be delivered to those who cannot come to the church. Harmony Baptist Church, 400 East 12th Avenue will have its Christmas Program on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013 at 5:45 p.m. The youth department will be in charge at this service. The primary Sunday School department, under the leadership of Sis. Semetric Walker and Sis. Adrienne Perkins, will make a special presentation and the entire primary department, under the direction of Sis. Sherree Hubbard, will give recitations. The juniors, teens and young adults will present the pageant “The Best Plastic Manger Scene Ever” with Sis. LaTresa Hervey and Sis. Annie Solomon in charge. The members will then participate in a Christmas card and gift exchange, and will give fruit bags to those present at the service. Bishop John Baker is pastor and Minister Vanessa Baker is First Lady. All are invited to come and share with us in this magnificent event.

The Cowboy Church of Corsicana, 5864 W. Missionary Baptist Church, 405 S. 15th Street, Corsicana. The Christmas season is a wonderful time of year. Sunday, MBC will celebrate the virgin birth of Jesus Christ in the city of Bethlehem some two thousand years ago. The birth and life that we celebrate is as important to the world today as it was then. As the many carols are sung, plays and programs are presented and the wonderful gifts to and from loved ones and friends are exchanged, remember that while Jesus is the “reason for the season” that brings joy and happiness, He is the One who is HOLY and worthy of worship and praise. MBC will meet Sunday at 9:45 a.m. for Sunday School and 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for Morning and Afternoon Worship. The mid-week services will be dismissed this week because of the holiday.
