Rice seniors win fourth in row

Corsicana —

Once again, the Rice High School Social Studies team has been named UIL Academic district champions, and they also swept up in the individual Social Studies event, as well.

Jack Zellar and Alex Stough are seniors who have won the Social Studies UIL district championship for the last four years, according to Alan Lewis, Rice ISD UIL director.

Zellar and Stough, along with teammates Katelyn Robinson, a freshman, and Parker Miller., a junior, won first at district last week, and will compete in Regionals on May 3. If they win regionals this year, they'll be bound for state for the second time.

In the individual Social Studies competition, Zellar took first, Stough took second, Robinson took third, and Miller got fourth. The top three will advance to regionals, and Parker will be an alternate to regionals.

In addition to the success of the Social Studies Team, Rice High School One-Act Play students were named the alternate to regionals.

Noah McBride and Kristyn Stewart were named All-Star Cast, and Ty Gibson and Riley Moore received Honorable Mentions in One-Act Play.

The Rice Computer Science team, made up of Carlos Correa, Trey Van Zuuk, Lexi Tovar and Schylar Jones, won second at district.

In the individual events, Rice students took the following places:
