Corsicana — Petty’s Chapel Baptist Church, 1300 FM 3041, Corsicana invites you to its Revival Oct. 18-20. On Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. the featured music will be by Grace, and the speaker will be Dr. John Lanoue. Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m., special music will be brought by Cross Timber, and Bro. Rick Gazaway is the guest speaker. And to wrap up the revival, Saturday, Oct. 20 will be a potluck supper at 5:30 p.m., music will be by Eternal River Band, and Pastor Gene Gipson will be the speaker. Trinity Bibleway COGIC, 102 Lawrence St., Trinidad, with pastor Dennis D. Albert, will host a conference for women called “100 Women in Red,” from scripture reference I Peter 1:4. Come one, come all women of God at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 when the guest speaker is Minister Carla Barron of Athens, soloist is First Lady L. Albert, and praise dancing by Sis. Fuller. The Liberty Tabernacle family and Pastor Waites at 2708 W. Eighth Ave. invite you to “A Time of Refreshing” with guest evangelist Pastor Kenneth Fletcher of the Living Word Christian Fellowship Church. Services will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 16, 17 and 18, with intercessory prayer at 6:20 nightly.  Pastor Fletcher was called into the ministry in 1993 while serving in the U.S. Army. During the following 10  years, while serving as the assistant pastor of New Zion Christian Fellowship in Killeen, he conducted revival meetings throughout Texas, Korea, Louisiana, Missouri, Colorado and Georgia. Blessed by the Lord with a very unique, prophetic annointing, in 2003, he founded the Living Word Christian Fellowship in Corsicana where he now serves as senior pastor with his wife Tamara of 24 years. Wesley United Methodist Church (due to heavy rains on Sept. 27) rescheduled its Blessing of the Animals with Celebration and Consecration of their new Noah’s Ark playground and youth gardens to Saturday, Oct. 13.  The Blessing of the Animals will be outside on the playground by Noah’s Ark at 3 p.m.  This will be followed by the Celebration & Consecration of playground and youth gardens for their new after-school program called “Noah’s Kids” that will begin in November. The Celebration activities begin at 4 p.m. with live gospel music by The Eternal River Band and free hot dogs, chips and soda. The community is invited to both events. The only requirement is that if you bring a pet to be blessed, the animal must be on a leash or carried in your arms.  Hope to see you there!  



Pelham Community Homecoming will celebrate its 55th annual Oct. 12-14. Friday night, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. will be a worship service with Rev. Charles Kelly as the master of ceremonies at the Wesley United Methodist Church, and Rev. Earnest Sample Sr. of West as speaker. On Saturday, Oct. 13, from 2 to 6 p.m. will be Pelham “Fun and Frolic.” Family and friends will enjoy activities at the Pelham Community History Museum. Bring your lawn chairs, Museum will be open for tours. The celebration will culminate on Sunday with homecoming worship services at 10:45 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Rev. Elgin Taylor, President Emeritus of Christians in Action International of Dallas speaking. Dinner will be served following services at the Pelham Community Center.



Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County, located at 4495 W. State Hwy. 22, invites all to join us for our Sunday Church Services starting at 10 a.m. There is nursery for babies through age 2 years and activities for 3 and 4 year olds. Children ages 5 through 12 are invited to meet in the children’s building for Children’s Church.  There are also the following activities, Monday Nights at 7 p.m., Mounted Shooting; Tuesday 7 p.m., Team Roping and Women’s fellowship. 7 p.m. each Wednesday is Bible Study and Youth Service. Barrel racing is held at 7 p.m. on Thursday. There will be  a Flea Market on Oct. 12 and 13 — $25 per booth and you keep what you make. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday; Ranch Rodeo on Oct. 20; Wear Pink Sunday (are you tough enough to wear PINK?) on  Oct. 21; Sunday, Oct. 28 is Eatin Meetin; and Truck or Treat Halloween Event will be Oct. 31.



Bethel A.M.E. Church will have an 8 a.m. morning worship service on Sunday, Oct. 14 only, so that its congregation may join the Pelham Community Homecoming Celebration services at the 10:45 worship time. Rev. Willie Lee Greene, Sr., pastor.



Rockhill Baptist Church, Richland, will hold a Pastor’s Appreciation Program for Charles Kelley, pastor, and his 31 years of dedicated service. This program will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21. The theme is “Running for Jesus a long time, and I am not tired yet.” The spoken word will be brought by Minister A.D. Richards, associate pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church of Dawson. II Thessalonians 3:1 “Finally brethren, pray for us, that the world of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you.”



Trinity Assembly of God, located at W. Hwy 31 and FM 2452 (three miles West of WalMart) will hold a Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be antiques, arts and crafts for sale, lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Barbecue plates are $8 (cooked by Roy Williams) and contain brisket, beans, potato salad, bread and banana pudding. There will be a quilt drawing at 2 p.m. Kids are welcome, they will have a train ride and bounce house. The auction will continue until all is gone.



Church of Grace Without Walls Ministry extends greetings to all precious souls. Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1600 S. Bus. Hwy 45, invites the public to attend its Chat and Chew Bible Study each Tuesday at 7 p.m. Elder Joseph Johnson Sr., senior pastor of Johnson Memorial, will be the teacher. Please come and be a part of this prophetic teaching.

First Baptist Church of Eureka, 8718 Hwy 287 South, will host a BBQ Fund Raiser on Oct. 13, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. Our children's Church has outgrown their class rooms and are in need of more space. The children are working hard to help raise the funds to build additional classrooms. Come out and show your support and help them to reach their goal! Mildred Baptist Church will host The Goldenaires Senior Adult Choir from First Baptist Church, Richardson in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012. This 165-voice choir was founded in 1984 and has sung locally as well as on the national stage. Their most recent endeavor was to sing and minister in prisons in and around the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. About 65 members of the choir will come for the concert in Mildred, as the choir will send out portions of the choir twice annually  to perform in smaller churches outside the metroplex. The public is cordially invited to be a special guest of Mildred Baptist Church for this great musical event. The concert is free.



 Calvary Baptist Church, 308 E. 11th Ave., invites you to join its congregation in celebrating its Pastor and Wife, Leon and Yolanda Tates, in an Appreciation Service. Guest speaker will be Apostle David Ransom of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church of Fairfield, and he will be joined by the all male chorus and Brother Paul Lewis. Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 2105 E. Jones Ave., is celebrating its 100th year. It will hold a Pre-Homecoming Banquet at the Cook Center Saturday, Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m. Pastor Fabian Jacko of the Greater Golden Gate Church of Dallas is the speaker. Hubbard First United Methodist Church is getting ready for its annual Lord’s Acre Festival which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20.  The “Quilters for Christ” ladies are also busy getting last minute items ready for the big day. The “Country Store” will be open from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and will feature many mouth-watering baked goods and other specialty items. Shoppers can enjoy a sandwich lunch as well as preview the beautiful handmade quilts made by the “Quilters for Christ” and other items that will be featured in the Auction that begins at 2 p.m.  Visitors can also tour the “Pumpkin Patch” which is staged on the Methodist Parsonage lawn across the street from the church.  Pumpkins of all sizes and shapes will be available for purchase. It will be open to the public through Oct. 31. At the conclusion of the auction, a turkey and dressing meal with all the trimmings will be served in the Haralson Center. The cost of the meal is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.  Take-out meals will also be available. Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2217 W. Seventh, will display the quilts being raffled off by House of Refuge from Oct. 10 through Oct. 17. One quilt is a handmade alphabet pattern, while the other batch is Christmas tree skirt, table runner and hot pads. Tickets are $10 each, and all proceeds will go to the operating fund for the House of Refuge, which receives no state or federal funding.



Harmony Baptist Church, 400 East 12th Avenue Corsicana, will hold an appreciation service for its Minister of Music and Praise Team Leader, Minister Chasity Perkins Portis on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 at 3:30  p.m.   Minister Portis has worked tirelessly and has served faithfully at her position for over 10 years. She presently works with the sanctuary choir, youth choir, Voices of Deliverance choir,  HBC Brotherhood, as well as lead the HBC Praise Team. All family, friends, and acquaintances are welcome to this great event.  Please come by to show your love and support as we honor Minister Portis for a job well done. Love Chapel Baptist Church located at 400 North Benton Street where David E. Wilson serves as Pastor and Sharron D. God's Holy Temple COGIC located at 301 East Third Ave, downtown Corsicana will have a special “Healing Service” Sunday Morning at 11 a.m.  Pastor Eric Grant, Rev.
