Hubbard First United Methodist Church is getting ready for its annual Lord’s Acre Festival which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20. The “Quilters for Christ” ladies are also busy getting last minute items ready for the big day. The “Country Store” will be open from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and will feature many mouth-watering baked goods and other specialty items. Shoppers can enjoy a sandwich lunch as well as preview the beautiful handmade quilts made by the “Quilters for Christ” and other items that will be featured in the Auction that begins at 2 p.m. Visitors can also tour the “Pumpkin Patch” which is staged on the Methodist Parsonage lawn across the street from the church. Pumpkins of all sizes and shapes will be available for purchase. It will be open to the public through Oct. 31. At the conclusion of the auction, a turkey and dressing meal with all the trimmings will be served in the Haralson Center. The cost of the meal is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.
