The Second Annual Richland Craft and Vendor Fair will be held at 103 W Main St., Civic Center, Richland. Inside space w/table $25; outside covered space w/table $15; outside space no cover or table $10. All vendors also donate two non-perishable food items to the Richland food pantry. A portion of the table rental proceeds will go to the volunteer fire department. All interested vendors should contact Leigh Tidwell (972) 979-9731 or ltidwell74@hotmail.com by March 16 to reserve a space.

The Navarro County NAACP will have its Seventh Annual Health Fair at the MLK Center, 1114 E. Sixth Ave., The Ross Breast Center Mammography Mobile will be there, to schedule an appointment or if you would like to set up a booth, contact Barbara Kelley at (903) 872-7973.

The Corsicana Art League will hold an exhibit at the Warehouse Living Arts Theatre Gallery.

April 18

Navarro College Multimedia Department presents Media Fest 2013, to be held at 10 a.m. at the Cook Center Planetarium at Navarro College. This is a great opportunity to see the best work produced by our multimedia students during the last year. There will be photography, drawings, paintings, 3-D, music, and video on display on the planetarium ceiling. Everyone is welcome.   • City cancels ambulance contract with county

    The City of Corsicana has notified Navarro County officials it is cancelling its agreement with the county to provide EMS ambulance service to areas outside the city limits. According to a letter sent to county officials by Corsicana Mayor Chuck McClanahan, ambulance service to county residents will end on Jan. 31, 2015.

    The project to rebuild Seventh Avenue or Highway 31 as it goes through Corsicana is almost over. From an uneven patchwork of paving and pitted concrete, now it’s a smooth ride from Beaton all the way through town.
    It just took an extra year to finish.

    An attempt to bootleg electricity off a pole using jumper cables is believed to have caused a building fire that took out a former restaurant in Angus Friday morning, one of a series of calls to Navarro County Sheriff’s Office to the southern end of the county over the weekend.
