Suspect in Dallas shooting arrested in Corsicana

Corsicana — Corsicana Police officers located and arrested a Dallas man Sunday morning wanted in connection with a shooting in the Metroplex.

Police Chief Randy Bratton said the man was located shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday at a residence on West Park Row. He was taken into custody without incident and was scheduled to be picked up by Dallas Police.

According to Dallas Police, the man is alleged to have shot a female in Dallas, and then tried to take his own life when his weapon jammed.

Dallas Police told Corsicana authorities they belived the suspect could have fled to the Corsicana area, prompting the request for help from CPD..

Several agencies were involved in the search, which began while a large contingent of officers were still on the scene of a standoff on Dobbins Road, where a man with a gun was threatening to kill himself and any officers that approached him.

Bratton said Corsicana's officers did a good job locating the suspect. 

Department of Public Safety troopers, sheriff's deputies and Navarro College police also assisted in the search during the evening.
