Corsicana — The State Board of Education has released new high school graduation requirements for students in Texas beginning with the Class of 2018. Current eighth graders, who will be in the ninth grade in Fall 2014, and their parents are encouraged to come learn more about the opportunities at Corsicana High School.

Three information sessions are currently scheduled at Corsicana High School in the commons.

 7 p.m. Tuesday

 6 p.m. Feb. 18

 5:30 p.m. Feb. 25.

Students and parents will hear an information session, and then will  have an opportunity to hear from instructors regarding new courses and program endorsements available.

“This is an exciting time for incoming freshman.  Program electives will allow students to explore potential career interests while in high school and receive credit for their work,” said Susan Johnson, executive director of Communication. “Education is no longer ‘one size fits all’.”

High school counselors will also be available during the sessions to make appointments with students and parents to register for fall classes. Spanish translators will also be available during all sessions.
