Benefit and Auction for Bruce Adams will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Remington Ranch Event Center, 122 W. Third Ave., Corsicna. On July 4, 2013 Adams suffered a stroke and was transported by air ambulance to Baylor. He had a second stroke in the emergency room, and was in the hospital for several months. Since he has not been able to return to work, family and friends are hosting this brisket lunch benefit and auction to help him with his mounting medical bills. Adams served as a volunteer firefighter for 15 years for the Navarro Volunteer Fire Department, and they are assisting with the auction. Ira Bradford and Bustin’ Loose will perform. There will be a raffle, door prizes, and an auction at 3 p.m. For more information contact Michelle at (903) 641-8068.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Site open from 2 until 7 p.m. to assist the elderly and low income file their tax returns at the Corsicana YMCA. To schedule an appointment, call  281-682-0928.
