The Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 610 Dyfed Lane, Milford, invites you to its Pastor’s Aid Annual Day at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 with Bishop k.d. davis sr. as guest speaker.

New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Kerens invites you to its Community Revival March 3-7, at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The Harmony Baptist District Women Executive Board will meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Hopewell Baptist Church, Dawson where Moderator Monroe Allen serves as Pastor. The messenger will be Minister Roy Sanders III who serves as a Minister at the Love Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor David E. Wilson.  All churches of Harmony District are asked to be present. Evangelist Machleann Grant serves as President of the Harmony Baptist District Women Department and Pastor Monroe Allen serves as Moderator.

  • City cancels ambulance contract with county

    The City of Corsicana has notified Navarro County officials it is cancelling its agreement with the county to provide EMS ambulance service to areas outside the city limits. According to a letter sent to county officials by Corsicana Mayor Chuck McClanahan, ambulance service to county residents will end on Jan. 31, 2015.

    The project to rebuild Seventh Avenue or Highway 31 as it goes through Corsicana is almost over. From an uneven patchwork of paving and pitted concrete, now it’s a smooth ride from Beaton all the way through town.
    It just took an extra year to finish.

    An attempt to bootleg electricity off a pole using jumper cables is believed to have caused a building fire that took out a former restaurant in Angus Friday morning, one of a series of calls to Navarro County Sheriff’s Office to the southern end of the county over the weekend.
