The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 320 North 15th Street in Corsicana. For more information to to make an appointment call 1-800-733-2767.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Site open from 2 until 7 p.m. to assist the elderly and low income file their tax returns at the Corsicana YMCA. To schedule an appointment, call 281-682-0928.

Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Historical Society building. Guest speaker will be Russell Hudson, Navarro County Tax Assessor/Collector. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Fish Fry to be held at the Benedictine Monastery of Thien Tam (Heavenly Heart) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The monastery is located at 13055 SECR 4271, located off Hwy 287 and Monastery Way. Bark for Life (sponsored by the American Cancer Society) will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bunert Park. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., $10 per dog. It is a non-competitve walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. Also at the event will be a CASI-qualifying chili cookoff event, and a Car Show sponsored by Cars of Navarro County.

When Are We Going Home Ministry and Break N Free Camp presents the Riding High Horsemanship Program to be held at 4719 NECR 1040 in Rice. Call for directions and to RSVP to (903) 422-6120. This event is free and open to all medically challenged, special needs and disabled children and foster children and their immediate siblings up to the age of 21. Lunch will be provided. A handicapped ramp is available, as well as side/front walkers, and a playground. The event will include riding, saddling, safety, feeding and care of horses, and a short devotion.
