Corsicana Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be at the Kerens Public Library from 1 to 4 p.m. each Wednesday until April 11. If you are a low income (usually under $42K) or elderly, and in need of tax filing assistance, take advantage of this free program. This year we are seeing clients with appointments first and then we’ll work with our walk-ins. VITA will be at the YMCA in Corsicana on Tuesday and Thursday from 2 until 7 p.m. and Wednesdays in Kerens at the library from 1 until 4 p.m. Call George Burrell at (903) 879-2091 to schedule your appointment.
The Kinsloe House Policy committee headed by Jan Moore with committee members Marsha Banks, Seley Fuller, Martha Grove, and Donna Ingham will host a interesting program on Gardening for both your in-town yard and your country yard. Other members of the Corsicana Better Garden Club will assist her. With Spring in the air our thoughts turn to flowers and vegetables. The program, presented by Mary Hargrave, will give attendees lots of neat ideas that will make your gardens, flower beds, and yards grow like a professional did it. The James Blair Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at the Kinsloe House at 3 p.m. Hostesses for the meeting will be Mary Alice Hendryx and Barbara Shore.
