Corsicana — Missionary Baptist Church, 405 S. 15th Street, Corsicana. Great things are happening at MBC. Four persons came forward this past Sunday making profession of faith in Jesus Christ asking to be candidates for baptism and membership at MBC. Baptism for these four will be this Sunday during the Evening Worship service. May their lives be richly blessed. Tonight, Friday, Oct. 4, the long awaited Friday Night Fun Night resumes at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall/gymnasium. The summer is finally slightly cooling. The Morning Worship at 10:50 a.m. this Sunday will be a Youth Led service.  Young people will be in charge of the entire service. A guest speaker from another ABA church will present the morning message. Also, lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall Sunday with the Afternoon Worship immediately following that will consist of “Songs by Request” and the aforementioned baptismal service.  Many things at happening at MBC including the regular Wednesday evening youth fellowship and Adult Bible Study at 7 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend any and all of these opportunities. You will be blessed.

Lighthouse of Praise Ministry, 200 E. Collin St., Corsicana invites you to join them at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013. Where love is not a feeling, He is a person, His Name is Jesus.

Brown Chapel AME Church in Pelham invites the public to join them for a service at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 to recognize Deborah Douglas for her work in and for the church. There will be a First Heritage Parade on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. All original settler families of the communities of Antioch, Brusher (Brushie Prairie), Irene, and Pelham will be recognized. Pelham Community Homecoming will take place Oct. 11-13. At 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 a Worship Service by Rev. Charles Kelly will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church. Rev. Dennis Weaver will be the speaker. On Saturday, Oct. 12, from 2 to 6 p.m. will be Pelham “Fun and Frolic.” Family and friends activities at the Pelham Community History Museum, bring your lawn chairs, and the museum will be open for tours. Beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 will be Sunday School, followed by 10:45 a.m. Homecoming Worship Services held at the Wesley United Methodist Church, with Rev. Willie Green of Bethel AME Church, Corsicana as the speaker. Dinner will be served following the service at the Pelham Community Center.
