Corsicana — Hubbard Methodist Church will hold its 35th Annual Lord’s Acre  on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Hubbard First United Methodist Church, 208 NW Second St. Activities will be begin at 9 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. Many handmade gift items, baked goods of all kinds, jellies, etc. will be available for purchase at the Country Store until 12:30 p.m. Visitors may enjoyed a sandwich lunch as they preview the many beautiful quilts and other items that will be featured in the auction that begins at 2 p.m. At the conclusion of the auction, a turkey and dressing meal with all the trimmings will be served in the Haralson Family Life Center which is adjacent to the Church. Cost of the meal is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Take out meals will be available too. For more information, contact the church office at (254) 576-2313.

Harmony Baptist Church, 400 East 12th Avenue, Corsicana, will hold a special youth service on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Minister Broderick Taylor of Gethsemane COGIC, Dallas under the pastorate of Pastor W.D. Taylor. Come and join our youth in action and expect a blessing from the Lord. All are welcome. Bishop John Baker is pastor and Minister Vanessa Baker is First Lady.

Missionary Baptist Church, 405 S. 15th Street, Corsicana. Last Sunday was a wonderful day at MBC. The Youth Led Morning Worship, the noon meal and the baptismal service in the early afternoon were all excellent experiences for everyone in attendance. The church resumes its normal schedule this week with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:50 a.m., Afternoon Worship at 4 p.m. and Wednesday evening Adult Bible Study and youth activities at 7 p.m. A change is being made to the Friday Fun Night. Due to many being involved in the local football activities, Friday Fun Night will not resume until the football season is concluded for the year. Please come and join MBC in worship, song, fellowship and the study of God's Word. You will be blessed.

Mildred Independent School District board members approved the 31-year-old Corsicana native as the high school’s new principal Monday night.
