The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 22, 632 N. Beaton St., will hold it’s monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at the post. All members and prospective members are invited to attend. The Kinsloe House Volunteer Committee headed by Clara Hickerson and others will present a delightful and entertaining program with Jim Cathey, a renowned cowboy poet, on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Jim has won many prestigious awards nationally and locally. Jim started out at the Mabank Library Cowboy Breakfast fundraiser. He has written over 100 poems, and produced a CD with 16 of his poems. His work is featured at cowboypoetry.com. Jim attributes his love of poetry to his granddad and to living a rural lifestyle that provides many true life situations used in his poetry. He is still writing poetry and entering competitions. Jim is a true Texan. Eureka Crime Watch will hold its regular monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. at the Eureka United Methodist Church. Special guest will be Mildred ISD Superintendent Becky Burns who will provide updates on school programs, etc. The public is invited for this informative meeting and the fellowship which follows. Refreshments will be served.
Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. in the Blooming Grove Historical Society building. Guest speaker will be Jenny Bratton, director of the Child Advocacy Center in Corsicana. Everyone is welcome to attend.
